I just wanted to let the everybody know how fantastic Tom Toma is as the building engineer at 536 W Addison St. I asked him to look into a couple of issues I had in my apartment the last two days (smoke alarm, bathroom sink), and he took care of the above matters the very same day and in a very professional manner. Considering the work he is always doing (cleaning the building property daily, shoveling snow in the winter, overseeing the turnover of apartments), whenever I have asked for assistance from him, he has always provided timely, professional and excellent service. I have been in this building for over 30 years, and although every engineer that has worked there was also extremely helpful, Tom seems to go beyond that. I have owned a gym in Lakeview for over 25 years, and I know of many instances my members have told me where their landlords/building engineers have been very dispassionate regarding their tenants needs; that is the main reason that the members chose not to renew their lease.
So again, I just wanted to take the time to let everyone know what a stellar engineer Tom is for Planned Property Management.
I lived at 536 W. Addison for a year and would have renewed my lease if I had stayed in Chicago. The building engineer is a wonderful, nice man and quick to fix any issues (all of which were very minor for me). The management company is easy to get in touch with and also very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The building is always clean and very well maintained. It is a quiet building and I like that they offer recycling. I highly recommend renting from them.
We moved to 536 W. Addison from another PPM Building because my boyfriend bought a new car and needed a covered parking spot and we have been very content. We are litarlly 300 yards from Jewel and the Addison bus is at our front door. My boyfriend loves that he can walk to Waveland Golf Course (and he does every weekend). The building is super clean and quiet - I highly recommend this place.
I chose 536 W. Addison because I got a summer job at Wrigley Field and I wanted to walk – well that was 3 years ago and I am still here! I have a large apartment (much bigger than my friends in the same neighborhood), I walk to the lake, the Red Line, 2 grocery stores and any type of bar / restaurant I am in the mood for! Tome, our building engineer is the best. I will live here until I buy!
